State of the Union

The State of the Union Address. Watched it. Gotta say, it's embarrassing, ridiculous, and rather juvenile to watch one half of the room jump up and down and the other half of the room sit like frozen manequins. I vote for just listening to the speech and formulating my own opinion. Get rid of the TV coverage of such silliness in action. I know that I am an adult and can behave in an adult fashion. I do wonder about those who were in attendance at the speech last nite. What is it about Washington DC that turns people into (sorry) idiots? Is our legislative process so screwed up that nothing will ever get acomplished again? I just have to shake my head.....Let's try for some common sense - EVERYONE!

Returning on a Jet Plane

My trip to the Bahmas – here’s some of what I learned.
Jet lag is real. Plan a buffer day, before and after.
One night of Island dancing can ruin 6 months of physical therapy for a bad knee.
Always pack something warm – even if you are heading to the tropics. Wear only good shoes. Travel light. But the best part for me – no phone, no email, no twitter, no blog, no texting. It’s a great thing! I’m refreshed. I’m renewed. Last thing, Tsunami warnings happen. Have a plan. Be prepared.

Leaving on a jet plane

Leaving tonite for a tropical wedding. Nice to be leaving the deep freeze - but stressful to get everything done: messages changed, calls returned, emails redirected, checks written, problems solved. It's so great to have a professional competent staff who will handle what needs to be handled. (MSAE is lucky that way.) And it's great to have neighbors who will take care on the home front. It takes a community. So true.
